Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff Finally Responds to President Trump’s Scathing Accusation

Senator Adam Schiff has finally addressed President Trump’s explosive mortgage fraud allegations, dismissing them as politically charged and entirely baseless. Trump claimed Schiff misrepresented his primary residence to secure a better mortgage rate, citing what he said was a Fannie Mae “sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud.” The controversy even led to a Department of Justice referral.

In response, Schiff firmly rejected the accusations. He asserted that his ownership of homes in both Maryland and California was standard for a member of Congress and that lenders were fully informed of his bi-coastal living arrangements. He framed the claims not as legal questions but as acts of political retaliation, saying, “This smear will not distract from his Epstein files problem.”

In a press release, Schiff called out Trump’s attack as the latest example of retaliation against political opponents. He emphasized that the claims were “baseless,” and that he has always been transparent about his housing situation. Lenders, he said, were aware that his homes were not vacation properties but necessary for dual accountability in Washington and California.

Meanwhile, experts and observers remain uncertain. Some recognize mortgage fraud as a real offense but question the timing and selective focus on Schiff. Others point out that this latest probe is part of a broader pattern under the Biden administration, following similar scrutiny of political adversaries like AG Letitia James.

As of now, no charges have been filed. Schiff maintains his stance: these accusations are politically motivated, transparent, and will not deter him from continuing his oversight role or his work in the Senate.
