UPDATE: Man Who Sprayed Ilhan Omar Identified as 55-Year-Old Anthony Kazmierczak

This evening, Somalian Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar was sprayed with some kind of substance by a man during a town hall in Minneapolis.

Now, the man who sprayed Rep. Omar has been identified.

His name is Anthony J. Kazmierczak. He’s a 55-year-old Minnesota resident.

Here’s a closer look at him:

The New York Times reports that Kazmierczak is unemployed on disability:

The man accused of spraying an unknown liquid on Omar does not appear to have ever been charged with a violent crime in Minnesota. He was convicted twice of driving while under the influence of alcohol. Filings from a 2017 divorce case indicated that he was unemployed and receiving disability insurance payments.

At this time, we still don’t know what the substance was that this guy sprayed Rep. Omar with.

According to Omar, it smelled foul.

Yet, she opted out of getting any medical attention and continued with her town hall, barely pausing to ask for a napkin to wipe off whatever it was.

Kazmierczak is facing charges of third-degree assault for the crime.

Per The New York Post:

The congresswoman ran after Kazmierczak and appeared to be readying to punch him before he was tackled and removed from the North Minneapolis venue.

“I need a napkin,” Omar was heard asking a staffer on the hot mic.

Aides urged her to seek medical attention, but the 43-year-old “Squad” rep refused.

“No, we will continue. I’m fine,” Omar said.

An aide noted that whatever the substance sprayed was, “it smells so bad.”

Omar continued with her remarks a few minutes later.

“We are Minnesota strong, and we will stay resilient in the face of whatever they might throw at us,” she said, as her assailant was still being removed from the room.

Kazmierczak, 55, was arrested by Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) officers and booked into Hennepin County Jail for 3rd degree assault, according to MPD Public Information Officer Trevor Folke.

“Representative Omar was uninjured and resumed speaking at the event,” Folke noted.

Minneapolis Forensic Scientists responded to the venue – the Urban League Twin Cities building – to process the scene, according to police.

Doing this type of thing to any politician, on either side of the aisle, is never acceptable.

It’s just gross.

However, many folks are questioning whether or not this attack may have been staged, based on Rep. Omar’s reaction.

Johnny MAGA makes a good point:

So does Terrence K. Williams:

FAKE ATTACK: Something about this doesn’t add up. Do you agree ?

If someone randomly sprayed me with a substance, I’d be running to the nearest bathroom to wash my eyes and skin — or straight to the hospital.

Instead Ilhan Omar acted like it was nothing and continued her speech.

That’s an unusual reaction for a sitting member of Congress after being sprayed by a crazy stranger.

It’s suspicious, at the very least.

What do you think?
