RFK Jr. Responds To Former Running Mate Who Says He’s “Being Controlled”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has responded to recent comments made by his former running mate, who suggested he’s being influenced by outside forces. The remarks have stirred fresh attention around Kennedy’s independent campaign and internal tensions.

Yesterday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s former running mate, Nichole Shanahan, stirred controversy with a bold accusation on social media. In a post on X, Shanahan claimed that Kennedy is being “controlled,” stating that he “reports to someone regularly who is controlling his decisions (and it isn’t President Trump).” Her comments came as a response to criticism over President Trump’s recent nomination of Dr. Casey Means as Surgeon General, a decision that Shanahan had promised would not happen if she supported Kennedy’s Senate confirmation for Health and Human Services Secretary.

Shanahan’s post added fuel to an ongoing debate surrounding Dr. Means, a physician and co-founder of Levels Health, a company focused on metabolic health. While her innovative approach to tackling chronic diseases through lifestyle changes has garnered praise, there are concerns about her relatively inactive medical license and limited recent clinical experience. Shanahan claimed that when she backed Kennedy’s confirmation, she was assured that Dr. Means would not be appointed to any position at HHS or given a major role. With this promise now broken, she questioned Kennedy’s judgment and whether he’s being influenced by outside forces.

Shanahan’s post went further, raising doubts about the Means siblings, whom she described as “artificial” and “aggressive,” likening them to “Manchurian assets,” implying that they may have been manipulated or controlled in some way. This has added an element of intrigue and suspicion about Kennedy’s decisions, with some speculating that he may be under the influence of powerful figures behind the scenes.

In response to Shanahan’s accusations, Kennedy appeared on Fox News to address the growing controversy. When anchor Brett Baier brought up Shanahan’s claim that Kennedy’s decisions were being controlled, Kennedy shifted the focus to his leadership team at HHS, calling them “renegades” who have been “cancelled” during the COVID era. He emphasized that these individuals, including Dr. Means, are dedicated to searching for truth, regardless of the cost or opposition.

Baier pressed further, asking directly, “So nobody’s controlling your decisions?” However, Kennedy did not directly address the question, and before the conversation could continue, the segment abruptly cut to a commercial break.

The episode has left many questioning the nature of Kennedy’s independence and whether Shanahan’s comments were an honest expression of concern or part of a broader political strategy to discredit him. With tensions rising, the public is left wondering if RFK Jr. is truly being manipulated, or if this is simply an attempt to undermine his political credibility.

What do you think?

Is RFK Jr. being “controlled,” or is this just a fallout from a broken promise and political differences?
