Joe Rogan Challenges Big Bang, Points to Resurrection: ‘Jesus Makes More Sense’ 

Joe Rogan has sparked a new wave of discussion by questioning the widely accepted Big Bang theory, suggesting that the resurrection of Jesus Christ may offer a more logical explanation for the origins of the universe. In a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan shared his thoughts, prompting reactions from both his supporters and critics.

Joe Rogan has been increasingly open about his growing interest in Christianity, specifically in the teachings of Jesus Christ, expressing that, to him, the resurrection and other core elements of the faith make more sense than mainstream scientific explanations such as the Big Bang theory. In recent discussions on The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan openly questioned the logic behind the widely accepted scientific view that the universe originated from an infinitely small point. He argued that the idea of the universe emerging out of nothing doesn’t seem as believable as the concept of something always existing, suggesting that the notion of eternal existence makes more sense to him.

In one particular conversation with writer Cody Tucker, Rogan pointed out the apparent contradiction between the skepticism some people have about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the widespread acceptance of the Big Bang theory. He remarked, “It’s funny because people will be incredulous about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but yet they’re convinced that the entire universe was smaller than a head of a pin and that for no reason that anyone has adequately explained to me, instantaneously became everything?” Rogan further expanded on this, referencing ethnobotanist Terence McKenna’s famous line that contrasts religion and science, where McKenna suggests that science asks us to believe in just one miracle—the Big Bang. Rogan expressed that the concept of something coming from absolutely nothing feels far more implausible to him than the idea of an eternal existence.

Rogan has continued to show a growing interest in faith and spirituality. In a previous episode of his podcast, he discussed the decline of religion in modern society and expressed concern over its diminishing role. He suggested that in the future, people will come to understand the importance of having a divine structure and would come to see the need for Jesus. Rogan even humorously commented that it would be a good time for Jesus to make a return, showing his belief in the relevance of Christian teachings today.

Rogan has also shared his fascination with the concept of Jesus as a historical figure, expressing admiration for the idea and concept of Jesus, even if he hasn’t fully committed to a religious conversion himself. He reflected on his conversations with musician Kid Rock, where Kid Rock expressed certainty that Jesus was a real historical figure, and Rogan responded by acknowledging the powerful appeal of that belief. He said, “The concept of Jesus is absolutely amazing, and if Jesus came here and wanted to visit me, I would be psyched.” This shows that Rogan is not just interested in the idea of Jesus but is also deeply intrigued by the possibility of Jesus being a real person who lived and left an impactful legacy.

Rogan has made it clear that he sees a connection between his growing interest in Christianity and his fascination with other unconventional ideas. He even compared his desire for the truth of Jesus’ existence to his curiosity about mythical creatures like Bigfoot, jokingly stating, “I wanted Bigfoot to be real, just like I want Jesus to be real.” This blend of curiosity and openness to spiritual and metaphysical ideas underscores a deeper, ongoing exploration of faith and belief that Rogan is currently navigating, signaling a significant shift in his public discussions around religion and science.
