Antifa-Linked Extremists Circulate Online Guide for Targeting U.S. Infrastructure With Fire: Report

A recent report reveals that extremists with ties to Antifa are circulating a disturbing online guide focused on targeting U.S. infrastructure with fire. This guide, which provides detailed instructions for carrying out arson attacks, has raised alarms among security officials.
Social media accounts connected to Antifa have started distributing an incendiary guide that provides step-by-step instructions for creating devices designed to sabotage critical infrastructure cables. These cables, which are crucial to systems like railroads and communication networks, are now openly targeted in what appears to be an organized effort to disrupt vital services. The guide, titled “Burning Cables for Beginners,” is being shared widely on platforms like X, formerly Twitter, and offers detailed instructions on committing acts of arson to disable key infrastructure. According to the report from The Post Millennial’s Andy Ngo, the guide includes technical steps for setting fire to cables, aimed at causing widespread damage to transportation and communication systems that the public and private sectors depend on.
The article, which appears to be written by individuals associated with the radical left and anti-government factions, comes with a disclaimer urging readers not to print the instructions. The reasoning is clear: printed versions of the guide could be traced back to individuals through forensic evidence, such as fingerprints or other materials left behind. The authors explicitly caution against printing the guide, understanding that law enforcement could use such evidence to track down participants in extremist activities. The guide reflects a deliberate attempt to protect those involved from detection while promoting a destructive agenda against state infrastructure.
This development comes amid a series of incidents involving Antifa-linked groups carrying out violent and destructive acts. These have included property destruction, campus disruptions, and targeted attempts to shut down access to public and private spaces. A recent event in Seattle saw activists dressed in black bloc attire, a tactic often associated with Antifa, occupying a building at the University of Washington. They blocked entrances and exits, set dumpsters on fire, and disrupted traffic outside the building. Despite the immediate danger posed by the flames, no emergency services were reportedly on site during the initial moments of the incident, and the identities of the individuals involved remain unclear.
The spread of the “Burning Cables for Beginners” guide comes as part of a broader pattern of growing concern about domestic extremism, particularly among anarchist and anti-state groups. The guide has not been removed by its distributor, the “Anarchist Federation News” account, and no action seems to have been taken against the post at the time of reporting. This lack of content moderation raises questions about the responsibility of online platforms in addressing the spread of harmful and illegal materials. While Antifa itself is not formally recognized as a structured organization, many individuals and groups associated with its ideology have been linked to property damage, public disturbances, and violent acts.
At the federal level, authorities continue to warn about the rising threat posed by such extremist groups and their tactics. This includes the deliberate targeting of critical infrastructure, which is now recognized as a vulnerability to national security. Multiple government agencies are monitoring these developments closely, but it remains unclear whether any direct legal actions will be taken against those circulating this incendiary guide. The continuing presence of these groups online and their promotion of violent, anti-government actions suggests that the risk of coordinated attacks on public infrastructure remains high.
