‘Ben & Jerry’s’ Co-Founder ARRESTED At RFK Jr.’s Congressional Hearing

Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s, found himself in handcuffs today after causing a scene during RFK Jr.’s first big congressional hearing.

Right as RFK Jr. began his opening remarks, Cohen and a group of protestors jumped up and started yelling about Gaza. The shouting quickly escalated, and Capitol Police moved in fast. Cohen was escorted out of the hearing room and arrested, along with six others.

Here’s the moment it all went down:

And here’s another angle that shows what happened once Cohen was dragged out:

The U.S. Capitol Police confirmed Cohen was one of seven people arrested for disrupting the hearing. He was charged with obstruction—a misdemeanor. But the others weren’t so lucky. According to Capitol Police, some of the other protestors are now facing additional charges for resisting arrest and even assaulting officers. It’s still unclear how many of them will face those more serious accusations.

One protestor shouted, “RFK kills people with hate!” as Kennedy began his testimony—a chant that quickly spread through the room before several were physically removed. The disruption forced Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), who chairs the Senate HELP Committee, to briefly pause the proceedings.

Cohen has since been released with what amounts to a slap on the wrist, while his fellow protestors remain in legal hot water.

This isn’t Cohen’s first rodeo either. He’s been arrested in the past over left-wing causes—protesting U.S. military policies and calling for press freedom.

Per NBC News, all the others involved face additional legal trouble—except for Cohen.

So while he may be out and back on social media posting to X, the backlash might just be beginning.

Something tells me it’s about to be a Rocky Road for Ben & Jerry’s. (Yeah, I went there.)
