‘ICE Barbie’ Divides X With Vulgar Two Words for Illegals: ‘Best Response Ever’

A recent comment from a viral online figure known as “ICE Barbie” has stirred conversation across social media. Her blunt take on immigration sparked a wide range of reactions on X, formerly Twitter.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, often nicknamed “ICE Barbie” by the media, stirred controversy on social media after posting a blunt two-word message, “Suck it,” following the voluntary dismissal of a lawsuit filed against her by detained migrants. The lawsuit, initiated by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on behalf of ten migrants facing deportation to Guantánamo Bay, was dropped after some plaintiffs were deported and others chose to no longer pursue the case.
Noem’s sharp response on X (formerly Twitter) quickly divided opinion online. Many conservative supporters praised her straightforwardness, with one user calling it the “Best response EVER!!!” Others criticized the comment as unprofessional, reminding people of past controversies involving Noem, such as an incident where she shot her dog. Some defenders celebrated the comment as refreshingly bold, with one follower saying, “That’s not very lady like…and I love it!”
The original lawsuit alleged the migrants faced the risk of being transferred to Guantánamo Bay without legal authority, which the ACLU argued violated federal law and constitutional protections. Among the plaintiffs were Venezuelan parents separated from their young child, who was later placed in foster care amid claims that the parents were linked to the Venezuelan criminal group Tren de Aragua—a charge disputed by many family members and lawyers.
Since February, over 4,000 migrants have been deported to Venezuela, either directly from the U.S. or through Mexico, as part of the Trump administration’s tough immigration enforcement efforts. These measures include plans to use the Guantánamo Bay detention center for up to 30,000 immigrants deemed “the worst criminal aliens,” a move President Trump has openly supported, emphasizing that “Guantanamo Bay will hold the worst of the worst.”
Noem’s public image has often sparked debate. Critics have pointed to several controversial moments, such as a photo showing her holding a machine gun aimed near a Border Patrol officer’s head and another where she wore an expensive watch while confronting gang members in El Salvador. Shortly after taking office, she posted about an ICE raid in New York City before it was completed, potentially alerting targets and reducing arrests, which led to further criticism.
High-profile conservatives like Meghan McCain and Megyn Kelly have also expressed concern that Noem focuses too much on photo opportunities rather than effective policy enforcement, reflecting ongoing tensions around her leadership style in homeland security.
