BREAKING: Mass Casualty Incident Reported In New Jersey

A “mass casualty incident” was declared in Gloucester County, New Jersey, after a small plane crashed near Cross Keys Airport on Wednesday evening. Details are still coming in, but what we know so far is deeply concerning.

At least five people were rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, and officials say up to 15 people were onboard the plane—a Cessna 208B—when it crashed shortly after takeoff.

Emergency crews have been working around the clock at the crash site, which is in a wooded area near the airport on North Tuckahoe Road. The scene is chaotic, and now we’re learning more:

• Five medical helicopters were dispatched to evacuate the injured.
• Authorities say five passengers are in critical condition, and three more are in serious but stable condition.
• One person remains trapped inside the aircraft, and to make matters worse, the plane is reportedly leaking around 50 gallons of jet fuel, posing an immediate danger to first responders and the area around the crash site.

Officials are urging the public to stay away from the scene as they try to secure the area and investigate what went wrong.
