BREAKING: Judge Cannon SEALS Evidence In Trump Assassination Case Involving Ryan Routh Citing “exceptionally grave damages to U.S. National Security”

You might remember Ryan Wesley Routh — the man accused of trying to assassinate President Donald Trump in 2024. But now, the case has taken an even more bizarre and serious turn.

Federal Judge Aileen Cannon just granted a motion from the U.S. government to seal classified evidence in the case. The reason? The judge cited that disclosing this material could cause “exceptionally grave damage to national security.” This is a major legal move, and it means the evidence is so sensitive, not even the defendant is allowed to see it.

The motion was filed under CIPA § 4 — the Classified Information Procedures Act — which lets prosecutors present classified materials to the judge privately (in camera) and without the defense present (ex parte). Judge Cannon reviewed the motion and agreed: the government met the legal threshold. The materials are properly classified and too dangerous to expose, even in court.

What Could Be in the Sealed Evidence?

When a court agrees that national security could be severely compromised by revealing evidence, it usually involves extremely sensitive areas like:

  • Intelligence sources or spying methods
  • Active covert operations
  • Cyberwarfare programs
  • Nuclear or WMD-related details
  • Critical infrastructure vulnerabilities
  • Diplomatic or foreign intelligence arrangements

The fact that Judge Cannon sealed this evidence means that something big — potentially explosive — is buried in this case.

Why Keep It From the Defendant?

Under CIPA, the government can withhold or summarize classified material if releasing it directly to the defense would pose a national security threat. That typically happens only in rare, high-stakes situations — often involving:

  • Espionage or sabotage suspects
  • Foreign intelligence connections
  • Terrorism-related plots
  • High-level leaks of classified material

Given this context, there’s likely far more to the Routh case than just an attempted assassination. It could involve deeper links — possibly to foreign intelligence.

Ties to Ukraine? Yes, There Are Some

Investigators and reports have uncovered several suspicious connections between Routh and Ukraine:

  1. Combat Claims
Routh claimed he fought alongside Ukrainian forces against Russia. But Ukrainian groups have denied this, calling his claims exaggerated or even delusional.
  2. Weapons Procurement Attempts
Prosecutors say Routh tried to acquire powerful weapons — like .50 caliber rifles, RPGs, and even Stinger missiles — through encrypted apps. He was allegedly in contact with someone connected to Ukrainian military hardware.
  3. Unstable Behavior Abroad
While in Kyiv, Routh reportedly drew attention by waving an American flag and loudly supporting Ukraine. U.S. aid workers in the area described him as mentally unstable and flagged him to American authorities as a potential threat.
  4. Lack of Follow-Up in the U.S.
Despite the warnings, Routh seemingly returned to the U.S. without undergoing any serious screening or threat assessment.

A Chilling Letter and a Death Wish?

To make things even more bizarre, Routh recently sent a disturbing letter to Judge Cannon. The contents suggest he may have a death wish — almost as if he wants to be executed. The tone and content of the letter raise serious questions about his mental state and motivations.

This comes after he was allowed to represent himself in court, even though Judge Cannon strongly advised against it. She warned him that his court-appointed attorneys would defend him far better than he could manage alone.

Conclusion: Something Much Deeper Is Going On

What initially looked like a tragic case of political violence is starting to look much more complex. Between the sealed evidence, national security risks, and Routh’s strange background in Ukraine, it’s clear there are still many unanswered questions.

This isn’t just about an assassination attempt anymore. It’s possibly about espionage, foreign entanglements, and high-level intelligence secrets — and it’s all playing out in a courtroom that’s now sealed from public view.
