CHILLING: New Images Emerge of Minnesota K*ller

The Minnesota political shooting case just took an even darker turn.

Police have now released doorbell camera footage showing the suspected gunman, Vance Luther Boelter, approaching the homes of state lawmakers late at night—dressed as a police officer.

It’s chilling to watch. Picture it: you’re half-asleep, it’s the middle of the night, red-and-blue lights are flashing outside, and a man in uniform knocks on your door. Most people would assume it’s legitimate and open up.

That mistake turned deadly.

According to investigators, Boelter—who once served on the Governor’s Workforce Development Board after being appointed by Gov. Tim Walz—posed as law enforcement to gain access to the homes of Rep. Melissa Hortman and Sen. John Hoffman. Horton and her husband were killed. Hoffman and his wife were critically wounded but survived after being shot multiple times.

This case is disturbing not just for the violence, but because of the connections and details now coming out:

  • Boelter was not just some random lunatic. He was tied to Minnesota’s political system. Appointed by Walz in 2019, and before that under Gov. Mark Dayton in 2016.
  • He impersonated police, driving a near-identical police cruiser and wearing tactical gear, badge, and even carrying a Taser.
  • Investigators found anti-Trump flyers, a manifesto, and a target list in his vehicle—including both Hortman and Hoffman.
  • Oddly, that list didn’t originally include Sen. Hoffman, despite him being shot, which raises major questions about what the true motive was—or if there are multiple versions of the “list.”
  • Some of the names on that list, like former Sen. Kari Dziedzic, are no longer even alive. Others, like former County Attorney Mike Freeman, haven’t held office in years.

This doesn’t feel like a typical “political hit list” as we’ve come to understand them—it feels messy, outdated, possibly manipulated, or incomplete.

And it opens a huge can of worms.

Why was a man with deep political appointments tied to two administrations carrying out something this extreme?

Was it political? Personal? Ideological? Delusional? Or something else entirely?

It also begs the question—who vetted him when he was placed on these boards? How long had he been planning this? And are others involved?

If I were approaching this, I’d focus on three major areas:

  1. Transparency: The public needs to see the original “hit list” and manifesto—not just secondhand versions.
  2. Motive: The timeline of Boelter’s political involvement, views, and recent behavior should be scrutinized thoroughly.
  3. Security: It’s time to reevaluate how easily someone can convincingly impersonate law enforcement and breach high-profile homes.

This case is far from closed. And given the profile of the victims—and the suspect’s background—it’s likely we’ve only scratched the surface.
