CNN data analyst Harry Enten recently examined polling that shows Donald Trump would narrowly defeat Kamala Harris in a hypothetical matchup, even though his favorability remains low in broader polls. According to a CNN survey, 45% of voters think Trump is handling the presidency better than Harris would, while 43% believe the opposite, and 12% see no difference.

Enten clarified that the question wasn’t about voter regret, but current perceptions of leadership ability. He pointed out that Trump consistently performs better when directly compared to individual Democratic candidates rather than judged on his own, a trend mirrored in multiple polls.

He also noted that Trump leads Harris and other Democrats on key national issues, with an 8-point edge in voter trust. Enten warned that Democrats should not underestimate Trump’s chances just because of his polarizing reputation—when specific names are on the ballot, the numbers shift in Trump’s favor.

Meanwhile, conservative commentator Brett Cooper voiced concerns over the Democratic Party’s disconnect with younger voters. On “Fox & Friends,” she said many young people feel their concerns are ignored and that the party is increasingly seen as out of touch. She highlighted the retirement of aging lawmakers like Senator Dick Durbin as a sign of generational stagnation.

Cooper emphasized that disillusionment spans both left-leaning and moderate youth, many of whom feel politically homeless. A recent Harvard poll echoed these sentiments, revealing deepening frustration with the Democratic Party among younger Americans.
