Elon Musk’s Starbase Becomes Newest City in Texas!

Something new is taking shape down in Texas. A familiar name in tech is once again making headlines—this time with a bold move on the map.

Welcome to Starbase, Texas — the newest city in America, and one with Elon Musk’s fingerprints all over it.

What was once the small South Texas community of Boca Chica has now officially voted to become “Starbase,” the long-envisioned city centered around SpaceX operations. The vote wasn’t even close: residents approved the measure by a landslide, with 212 voting in favor and just 6 against. That’s more than enough to make it official.

While final certification is still underway, officials say the outcome is beyond dispute. The new city will cover about 1.5 square miles near the Mexico border — home to SpaceX’s launch site, test facilities, and the place where Musk’s team is building the future of interplanetary travel.

Musk celebrated the win on X, declaring, “Starbase, Texas is now a real city!” Soon after, a new city account popped up with a message focused on community and the spacefaring mission.

It’s a big step for SpaceX, and a bold new chapter for Texas.
