Kash Patel Says He Can Prove Christopher Wray Lied Under Oath About Election Interference

For years, many on the political left questioned the legitimacy of President Trump’s first term, pointing to unproven claims of foreign interference. But when similar allegations emerged about Joe Biden’s 2020 win, those same voices either ignored the concerns or dismissed them entirely.

Now, FBI Director Kash Patel is stepping forward with serious accusations against his predecessor, former Director Christopher Wray. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Patel plans to present evidence to Congress this week that Wray misled lawmakers about foreign interference in the 2020 election — specifically regarding China’s alleged role.

At the heart of the matter is an Internal Intelligence Report (IRR) created by the FBI’s Albany, New York field office. The report reportedly detailed an investigation into efforts by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to influence the U.S. election, including claims that fake driver’s licenses produced by the CCP were used to obtain paper ballots.

But after the report was published internally, FBI headquarters allegedly recalled it — effectively burying it. Patel claims this decision was made solely because the report contradicted Wray’s sworn testimony before Congress, in which he stated China was not involved in any election influence campaign.

According to Patel, FBI leadership at the time was more concerned with protecting Wray from political fallout than informing the public or pursuing the truth. “They were told to pretend the report didn’t exist,” Patel will tell Congress. Sources say the order came directly from the top, and the official reason given was that “the reporting will contradict Director Wray’s testimony.”

If these claims hold up, it could mean that Wray not only misled Congress but that the FBI intentionally suppressed credible intelligence during a pivotal election season. That raises serious questions about the politicization of federal law enforcement.

Patel is not backing down. In a statement reported by the National News Desk, he said:

“Based on our continued review and production of FBI documents related to the CCP’s plot to interfere in the 2020 presidential election, previous FBI leadership chose to play politics and withhold key information from the American people — exposing the weaponization of law enforcement for political purposes during the height of the 2020 election season.”

If proven true, this could be one of the most significant developments yet in the ongoing debate over election integrity and the role federal agencies may have played in shaping public perception. Patel has vowed that there will be accountability for those who chose politics over transparency.

This unfolding situation may reignite public scrutiny not just over the 2020 election, but over the credibility and impartiality of the institutions entrusted with safeguarding it.
