MUST SEE: President Trump Receives A Warm Welcome As He Arrives In Scotland

President Trump Receives Warm Welcome in Scotland Amid Key Trade Meetings and Golf Course Launch

President Donald Trump arrived in Scotland on Friday and was met with a wave of enthusiasm as crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the 47th President stepping off Air Force One.

Trump’s visit includes stops at his two golf resorts—Turnberry and Aberdeen—as well as meetings with global leaders. The trip, described by the White House as a “working visit,” comes at a tense moment in his second term as questions continue to swirl around the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Despite the political climate, Trump was greeted with clear support from many in Scotland—a country with deep personal significance for him. His mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, was born in the Hebrides, and he has long spoken fondly of his Scottish roots.

During his four-day visit, Trump is set to:

  • Meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss trade and further develop a deal first announced in June to reduce tariffs and expand market access.
  • Hold a high-level meeting with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to continue trade discussions.
  • Sit down with Scottish First Minister John Swinney, who stated he will raise humanitarian concerns about Gaza during their meeting.

Trump also confirmed that some of these meetings may take place directly at his golf properties.

The trip coincides with the grand opening of a second Trump golf course in Aberdeen, which he has named in honor of his mother, Mary Anne. Trump first opened his original Aberdeen course in 2012 and later acquired the prestigious Turnberry resort in 2014.

While Trump enjoys strong support from many Scots, not everyone is celebrating. The “Stop Trump” coalition announced plans for demonstrations in Aberdeen during the visit.

Still, Trump remained upbeat upon arrival:

“It’s great to be in Scotland,” he told reporters. “We’ll be meeting with the Prime Minister tomorrow and the next day. We’re going to do some great things.”
