White House Reporters Reveal ‘Abuse’ From Biden’s Press Team Over Questions on President’s Health

A recent report has shed light on growing tensions between White House reporters and President Biden’s press team. Journalists claim they’ve faced pushback when raising questions related to the president’s health.

Tensions ran high behind the scenes of White House press briefings during former President Joe Biden’s administration, as reporters say they faced significant pushback for asking questions about the president’s mental fitness.

Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich detailed the treatment she and others endured from the Biden communications team, led by former press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Heinrich described her experience on “America’s Newsroom,” revealing that journalists who probed into Biden’s age and cognitive health were often ostracized by their peers and reprimanded by White House officials.

They abused us, too,” Heinrich said, referring to how reporters were treated behind closed doors. “I had people in the press office tell me I was not a good reporter because I was asking questions about these things with sourcing.

Rather than addressing the concerns, the White House staff often sought to shut down conversations without verifying the information. The pressure extended beyond just White House staff. Heinrich explained that many in the press corps distanced themselves from those who raised doubts about Biden’s capabilities.

“For about three years they would go like this: They don’t want to be associated,” she said, referring to her colleagues’ reactions. “The White House was very effective in maligning anyone who was skeptical about the president’s age and abilities as a bad actor, as someone who is not a good journalist.”

These disclosures come as a new book titled “Original Sin” sheds light on how Biden’s inner circle concealed the president’s declining health during his time in office. The book accuses key figures, including former First Lady Jill Biden and Dr. Kevin O’Connor, of “elder abuse” for promoting the narrative that Biden was fit to serve another term despite his advanced age and serious health concerns, including the risk of cancer.

Heinrich’s tenure as a White House correspondent began in August 2021, according to Trending Politics. During that period, she often pressed Jean-Pierre and other administration officials on some of the most sensitive issues, including allegations that President Donald Trump engaged in “Jim Crow”-style voter suppression in the 2020 election and questions about Biden’s use of cheat sheets at press conferences.

One significant moment occurred shortly after the 2024 election when Heinrich challenged Jean-Pierre on Biden’s messaging toward Trump. Heinrich asked whether it was appropriate for Biden to demagogue Trump after previously saying “everything would be okay” if Trump remained in office.

“I do not appreciate having my words twisted,” Jean-Pierre responded sharply. “I have been very, very, very clear about what the president wants to do, and the vice president, deliver for the American people.”

“They deserve a peaceful transfer of power, and that’s what you’re gonna see.”

She then abruptly ended the briefing with a quick “thanks everybody” and left the room.

The Biden administration’s efforts to control the narrative about the president’s health, as revealed by “Original Sin” and Heinrich’s accounts, suggest a communications team intent on silencing skepticism, according to TP.

While Jean-Pierre no longer serves as press secretary, the impact of these tactics still resonates with members of the press corps, who recall a climate of intimidation and restricted access.

This ongoing concern highlights the challenges journalists faced trying to hold the administration accountable while navigating an environment where inquiries into Biden’s health were met with suspicion and backlash.
