Crockett Hints at ‘Safest White Boy’ Dems Looking to Run in 2028

During a recent discussion, Crockett made a passing remark about the kind of candidates some Democrats might favor in the next presidential race. Her comment lightly touched on early speculation for 2028 without naming names.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has stirred conversation with recent comments hinting that Democratic donors are already quietly backing a particular male candidate for the 2028 presidential race.

Speaking during a SiriusXM town hall and in an upcoming podcast episode, Crockett suggested there’s growing hesitation within the party about supporting a woman for president following Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 loss to Donald Trump.

“It’s this fear within the party that every time we’ve run a woman, we’ve lost,” Crockett said in a clip posted by host Clay Cane. Her remarks have quickly gained traction online, especially after she added, “So there’s a lot of people that are like, ‘Let’s go find the safest White boy we can find.’ I’m just saying.”

Crockett also claimed she’s heard directly from donors who say they’re already rallying behind one specific candidate—someone who, she emphasized, is neither Black nor a woman. While she didn’t name names, she made clear that financial support is being mapped out well ahead of the next primary season.

In making these comments, Crockett appeared to distance herself from these decisions, referring to the donors as “they”—the same group she says previously backed President Biden before the Democrats’ 2024 defeat.

Names being floated for 2028 include governors like Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, and Tim Walz, along with former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Despite her 2024 loss, Kamala Harris remains part of the discussion, having recently headlined a major DNC fundraiser.

Crockett, meanwhile, is also navigating her own rising profile. Reports indicate she’s vying for the top Democratic position on the House Oversight Committee, signaling her ambitions within party leadership. Known for her blunt style and strong opposition to Trump, she’s become one of the more outspoken Democratic voices in the current political landscape.
