Actor George Clooney, his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, and their two children have obtained French citizenship.

The couple ditched Hollywood with their 8-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, and have been living in France.

“You know, we live on a farm in France. A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid I hated the whole idea of it. But now, for them, it’s like – they’re not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life,” Clooney said in an interview about the family’s life in the French countryside, according to Fox News.

“I was worried about raising our kids in L.A., in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life,” he added.

In addition to his family home in France, George reportedly owns an estate in England, a villa on Lake Como in Italy, and another property near his family in Kentucky, People reported.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Clooney’s representatives for comment.

During his Esquire interview, Clooney talked about living in France, away from the glamor of Hollywood.

“France – they kind of don’t give a s— about fame,” he said. “I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids.”

“Good News! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become citizens of France which is, sadly, in the midst of a major crime problem because of their absolutely horrendous handling of immigration, much like we had under Sleepy Joe Biden,” President Trump commented on Truth Social.

“Remember when Clooney, after the now infamous debate, dumped Joe during a fundraiser, only to go onto the side of another stellar candidate, Jamala(K!), who is now fighting it out with the worst governor in the Country, including Tim Waltz, Gavin Newscum, for who is going to lead the Democrats to their future defeat,” Trump continued.

“Clooney got more publicity for politics than he did for his very few, and totally mediocre, movies. He wasn’t a movie star at all, he was just an average guy who complained, constantly, about common sense in politics,” he added.

The family’s new citizenship was made public in the Journal Officiel, where French government decrees are published.

Their farm in Brignoles, in the south of France, serves as the family’s primary residence. The couple purchased the home in 2021.

Didier Brémond, the city’s mayor, told local media that their decision to become French citizens was a testament to “his love for our country”.

He told broadcaster BFMTV that the Clooneys are “a very simple and very accessible family”.

“Here, he wants to live normally, and that’s what he is trying to do,” he said.
